Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a wedding is quite overwhelming so understandibly you’ll have lots of questions going through your head.  Here are a few that I get asked quite often…

How do we book you?

Firstly we’ll have a conversation to determine what options are available for your wedding photography package. After that I’ll put together a quote where you can select the options you wish and once accepted you will be asked to pay a 20% booking fee.  It’s as simple as that.

Do you have insurance?

Absolutely! A lot of venues request this as I’m a supplier.  So, I have public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance.

Do you take formal family group photos?

Yes I do, although my style is predominantly a documentary wedding photography, I still take group photos including one large group photo of everyone.  I simply ask to keep these to a maximum of 10 group photos as they take waaaay longer than you think to organise.  If I’m spending time doing these I’m not going to be able to photograph the other bits going on during that time.

How many photographs will I receive?

This is very difficult to say as there’s always various factors at play here.  But on average you can expect around 500 photos, smaller weddings will obviously be less and larger crazier weddings will produce more.

Can we buy an album?

Yes, I have lots of options for albums but this is best discussed after the wedding once you have received you wedding pictures.  Once your wedding photos have been delivered we can discuss creating your album with your favourite images.  The number of pictures and the layout will determine how many spreads are in your album.

What happens if you’re ill or there’s an emergency on the day?

I will always make every effort to be there on your wedding day.  If in the event that I’m not able to make it I will call upon the many groups of wedding photographers that I trust  to stand in for me.  If I truly can’t be there due to illness or an emergency and I can’t get a reliable photographer I will fully refund you your money.  Luckily, however, I have never needed to do this and long may it continue.

How long will it take for my photos to arrive?

I always aim to produce a sneak peek of images within a week of your wedding day although this sometimes is a little longer depending on the the time of year.  After that you can expect your fully edited photos to be ready between 3 to 5 weeks after that, again this depends on the time of year and how busy I am during that period.

Can we print our photos ourselves?

Yes!  Although I retain copyright I provide a personal print license for all the images so if you really wish to take them to your local supermarket or print them yourself you can.  Just bear in mind that the quality won’t be anywhere near as good as printing through my print lab via the online gallery.  So if you want professionally printed prints, framed prints, canvases, etc that will last many lifetimes go through the gallery.

Do you know any wedding suppliers that are awesome?

I sure do! I meet quite a few people, whether it’s a venue, florist, cake maker, makeup artist (MUA), hair stylist, etc and if I’m impressed with what they deliver and they are genuinely great people I will recommend them.  If they are not they don’t make the list.  You can check out my list here

How far do you travel?

I will travel anywhere! Whether that’s the UK or abroad.  If it’s over 1 and a half hours drive away from HP21 I simply ask you to cover the cost of a hotel for the night, mainly so I don’t fall asleep at the wheel on the way home as it will be a 12-16 hour day for me as it is.  Don’t worry I’m not going to book a 5 star hotel, budget hotels are my usual places unless nothing else is available.

If abroad please expect an additional £400 for Europe and £600 for anywhere else in the world
